2 Year Pictures

I attempted to take some 2 year pictures of Jacob. It did not go so well. We went to a local park. I let him out of the car and he took off running. I chased him the entire time, just trying to get him to stop and look at me. Then, whenever he'd stop, he would give the most squinty-eyed, cheesiest smile ever. SO...this is what I got. Not to mention his shirt is too small (or maybe his belly is too big?!) Keep in mind that I am no photographer, and I didn't edit these pictures at all.
Love you, silly boy!

Life Lately...

Wow! I cannot believe it is almost May already! Here's an update on the boys.

Jacob is his busy little self. Seriously, this boy does NOT sit still! We babysat our nieces the other night and they brought a movie to watch. We put it in around 8:30 (1 hour after Jacob's bedtime) thinking they'd just sit on the couch and relax. The girls did okay....but Jacob would not sit still for 2 seconds! We wonder how we are ever going to get him to sit in church. In other Jacob News, he is talking in sentences now and his new favorite sayings are "Look, Daddy," "Watch me, Mommy" and "What's that?" So fun! He also loves to give kisses. Whenever we leave a place, everyone needs to get a kiss. Sometimes, for the purpose of time, we have to just have him blow one kiss to everyone.

Braden has been so happy and content! He smiles all the time and is just so sweet and cuddly. He has started to roll over from his back to his tummy now! The first time he did it, I wasn't paying attention and I missed it. The second time he rolled over, Chris was playing with him on the floor but fell asleep and missed it! He's playing tricks on us already! He has also started to scoot himself backwards a little when he's on his back. We started giving him rice cereal a couple weeks ago, but it seemed to make his tummy hurt, so we stopped. I think his tummy is a bit sensative, because he doesn't like to drink a lot of milk at a time, either.

Here are a couple of pictures from Easter morning.

Obviously it's kinda hard getting Jacob to look at the camera and smile. Here are a couple of other randoms pics of the boys.

Braden William, you are 4 months old!

Happy 4 month birthday, buddy! Here's what you are up to these days:

-You weigh 13lbs, 13oz (10th percentile) and are 24.75 inches tall (between 25th and 50th percentile).

-You are a happy boy! You smile a lot and have the cutest little dimple. You giggle too - mostly when daddy is blowing on your tummy.

-You eat only breastmilk and formula. The plan is to start some rice cereal soon!

-You usually take 3 naps a day, and you sleep from about 8:30p.m. until either 4am or 6am.

-Sometimes, you really like your pacifier to get to sleep. You also suck on your fingers/hands a lot.

-You are starting to enjoy holding things (blankets, toys, mama's hands).

-You are very alert and active. You have such beautiful, blue eyes and you love to watch other people. You REALLY love watching your big brother play. When you "play", your arms and legs go like crazy.

-You can roll from your front to back, and are close to rolling from back to front.

-You are a little screamer! You have definitely found your voice and a nice high-pitched scream!

-You take medicine for acid reflux. This makes your tummy feel a lot better.

-You love to be swaddled and wrapped up tight for naps and bedtime. When you wake up, you are usually content to just lay in your bed and look around. :)

-You sleep in mommy and daddy's room in a pack 'n play!

Daddy, Mommy, and Jacob love you sooo much. You are getting so big already! We are so glad that you are in our lives, and we can't wait to watch you grow up! Love you buddy!

Jacob - Two years

Jacob will be 2 years old this week. Happy Birthday to my silly and sweet smartie pants.

Here are some things he loves:

-Food! This kid eats a TON....and he eats almost anything we give him. It is so nice because he always eats the same things we eat.

-His blanket. Jacob sleeps with his blanket and has to have it when reading books. We also have another blanket known as the "special blanket" that we haul out from time to time (when his is in the laundry).

-Playing outside. I think he would stay outside forever if we let him. There are always tears when it is time to come in.

-Grandpa/Grandma and Opa/Nanna. Jacobs spends A LOT of time talking about these special people. He loves going to Grandpa and Grandma's house, and he also loves skyping with his Opa and Nanna.

-His brother. Braden gets many kisses from Jacob each day. Jacob also likes to play a "game" he made up called "Two boys." When Jacob and Braden are next to each other (lying down or being held) he always says "two boys"....he also loves to lay his blanket out and lay with Braden on the floor saying "two boys..."

-Tractors/trucks/balls/dirt. He's a boy, need I say more?!

This list could go on and on. Jacob is such a happy little boy and loves so many things. Here are some other things that my 2 year old is up to and just little things I want to remember:

-He weighs 29lbs, 4oz and is 34.5 inches tall. Both weight and height are in the 50th percentile.
-He counts to 10!
-He knows a lot of basic colors.
-He can say his full name.
-He weighs 29lbs and 4oz. He is between the 50th and 75th% for both weight and height.
-He has had 2 sets of tubes in his ears because of ear infections. As of right now, 1 of the tubes from the 2nd set is out.
-He is big into saying "yes please" and "no thankyou". If you ask him if he's ready for his nap he'll say "no thankyou." :)
-He's a good sleeper. He sleeps about 12 hours at night and will usually take a 2 hour nap in the afternoon.
-He likes to stay busy. On days when Mommy doesn't have to work it can be very hard to keep him entertained.
-He loves to throw and kick balls.
-He will usually wake up and yell "Mommy where ARE you?" until I get him up.

I'm hoping to take some 2 year pictures of him soon, but for now I will just post some random pictures of the last few weeks.

Newborn and 20 months

We had Braden's newborn pictures taken when he was 2 weeks old (a long time ago, now). Of course we had to take some of big brother Jacob, too.

Enjoy our precious boys!
